Land of Excess has been touring around Charleston, SC  and that is our excuse for not writing missives about McMansions in McLean, VA and other Greater Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area locations.  But alas we are back on the job, and are bursting with curiosity about the decision-making process that led to the runway-like driveway approach to this fountain-type thing.  [McLean, VA, listed at $3,950,000.]  And we are willing to bet five dollars that every time the owners back their SUVs out of the three garages at left that they curse this fountain.  Maybe family members supervise the backing-up from the twin second-story Juliet balconies.
