Here at Land of Excess, we have become accustomed to looking at pictures of residential buildings in the Greater Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area that feature bad siting, bad design and bad construction.  So accustomed in fact that we fear we have become desensitized.  Wikipedia says “…desensitization is defined as the diminished emotional responsiveness to a negative or aversive stimulus after repeated exposure to it.”  However, having taken a little time off from our endeavor, we find that we are so very sensitive indeed to the pictures of this new construction in Great Falls, Virginia that we just want to shoot ourselves in the face.
