Land of Excess is fascinated by this big ole place at 19124 Jerusalem Road, Poolesville, MD.  30 miles from the White House, claims an old document.  Much of the structure dates back to 1812, built with bricks made on location.  Parts were torn down in 1938 and rebuilt.  We understand it used to be called “Aix La Chapelle.”  It is being offered now for $2,500,000 with 159 acres, 9 bedrooms, 5 full and 1 partial bath, and garaging for 2.  There are a lot of barns and outbuildings, and 3 tenant houses,  orchards, cropland, ponds, and a swimming pool.  The listing text cautions:  “This property is being sold ‘as is, where is’.”  We are wondering if a huge road project is going in next door or something.
