Land of Excess has spent a few minutes getting all warm and cozy with this upper level floorplan for a residential dwelling in McLean, VA.   Most striking to us is the placement of the Laundry Room.  It is fantastic that it is on the bedroom level where it should be for a contemporary family that is not using copious linens for dining, which would require the laundry to be nearer dining/kitchen facilities.  But we are surprised to discover that this Laundry Room is snugged in proprietarily behind the more intimate areas of the 924 square foot Master Suite such that those not accommodated in the Master Suite nevertheless have to walk through its bedroom area, its vanity dressing area, and one of its 2 Walk-In Closets in order to reach the washer and dryer.  Is this a new form of family togetherness?  Or a suggestion that the occupants of this 5 bedroom, 6 full and 1 partial bath and 4 car garage domicile offered at $1,749,900 might be childless, or even single?
